Conditions for Student Work Permits
Except for those who are granted the right to apply domestically within the framework of legal regulations, foreign nationals wishing to obtain a work permit in our country must have a residence permit valid for a minimum of 6 months (excluding short-term residence permits for tourism purposes) with a history of at least 6 months. Students who are currently holding a valid residence permit can apply for a work permit through the Ministry of Labor and
Social Services.
Associate, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students studying in Turkey can work after the first year, provided they obtain a work permit.
Applications are made to the Ministry of Labor and Social Services.
Is a Work Permit Considered a Residence Permit?
A work permit and a work permit exemption confirmation document serve as a substitute for a residence permit. Foreign nationals who obtain a work permit must register with the Provincial Immigration Authority within 20 working days from their entry date into our country.
Where Can Foreign Students Work in Turkey?
They can work in public institutions, private organizations, and workplaces, excluding the Turkish Armed Forces and security organizations.
Foreign nationals of Turkish descent, if they obtain a work permit, can practice professions such as judgeship, prosecution, and diplomacy.
